Jackie Brock-Doyle: Equal pay is a right, not a luxury

Jackie Brock-Doyle is respected as one of the world’s leading communication strategists. She has worked in the media, communication and marketing field for 30 years and she is currently leading communications for World Athletics, the number 1 Olympic Sport. She has proven to be very capable, results driven, strategic in planning and internationally experienced in many different positions.

She believes that women have to be confident and believe in themselves to be able to be more heard. However, she also adds that providing an environment that does not intimidate women is equally important.

She devoted her speech at the 12th year of Equal Pay Day mainly to the topic of inclusion into the workplace of women after maternity leave. She talked mainly from the business view and explained the position of employer in these situations. Listen to the woman, who is herself result-driven and explains why the diversity in the workplace gives better results.

She revealed, among other things:

  • What are the 3Rs that most of the companies invest in now.
  • Explained the 4th R that every company should invest in.
  • What is the employer’s view of maternity leave.
  • Why women prolong their maternity leave.
  • How to create the right conditions for women to return to the workplace.

In the Czech Republic, Equal Pay Day is organized by the public benefit organization Business & Professional Women CR z.s.,  which brings together active women who want to do much more than just business. The organization is part of the BPW International network, which has been operating in more than 100 countries for over 90 years. The founding member of the organization was the Czech senator Františka Plamínková. This organization was founded in the Czech Republic in 2010 by Lenka Šťastná with the vision that when women come together, they can do incredible things.
