About me

Michaela Chaloupková graduated from the Faculty of Law of ZČU and received an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh. She has been working for ČEZ, a.s. since 2003, where she joined the position of a sales clerk in purchasing. She gradually worked her way up to the position of director of the administration division, which includes purchasing, HR, property, and vehicle management for the entire ČEZ Group. Her responsibility includes, in particular, the purchase of all services and materials needed for the construction, operation, and maintenance of power plants, distribution networks, coal mining, and the overall functioning of ČEZ Group companies, including the public procurements worth several tens of billions of Czech crowns per year. At the same time, her responsibility includes the management of ČEZ Group HR, where one of her key topics is the support of diversity and inclusion in the company.

In October 2011, she became the only woman on the Board of Directors of ČEZ, a. s. Michaela has personally tried not only the executive level but also every management level in the corporate hierarchy, she has extensive experience in the functioning of a large corporation. At the moment, her team has almost 1000 people. In 2012, she appeared for the first time on the list of 25 women in Czech business, in which she has regularly occupied the top ranks since then. She also regularly appears in the list of the 50 most influential women in the Czech Republic published by Forbes magazine.

Currently, she is also engaged in mentoring and coaching in the Odyssey program supporting female managerial talents, the British Chamber of Commerce’s Equilibrium mentoring program, and especially in the corporate environment, where she supports the development and growth of a number of women and men. She is married, has 2 sons (12 and 8 years old) and a three-year-old daughter. She loves winter sports: cross-country skiing, skiing, snowboarding, and she likes to ride a bike, run and practice yoga all year round. She also likes to cook for her family and her passions include reading and traveling.

I like to speak at conferences on topics that interest me and have something to say about them.

What kind of CHANGE you would like to SEE & MAKE?

I would like women to have the same professional and career growth opportunities as men.

What kind of CHALLENGES are the most imporant in 2023?

To manage inflation in terms of wages.

What are the topics that are not publicly spoken, but it definitely should be?

Why do women disappear from the work environment for several years due to motherhood and if it is really necessary and desirable.
