Mounia El Hilali: Having gender balance in your team is crucial for good business results

Mounia El Hilali Acherkouk Yakhlef has been working in IKEA since 2007, when she started as the Director of a department store in Malaga. Subsequently, she worked as the Deputy Director of IKEA France, where she was responsible for 10 department stores and was in charge of other activities related to IKEA’s activities in France. After returning from maternity leave, she became involved in several global projects within the IKEA Group. Since September 2018, she has been the CEO of IKEA for the Czech republic, Hungary and Slovakia. IKEA under her leadership is considered as a leader of diversity in the Czech republic and other countries.

She devoted her speech at the 12th year of Equal Pay Day mainly to the topic of gender balance and its importance in life of the whole society and business. Get inspired by a successful woman who, by behaving, promotes diversity in her work team because she knows the benefits which it brings.

She revealed, among other things:

  • How to properly set the conditions for ensuring diversity in the team
