Topic:  The Art of Speaking Up – If you don’t ask you won’t receive!

Come and join this interactive discussion about the reasons we don’t ask for what we want and how we can overcome the daunting task of speaking up.

Once we understand the barriers that hold us back (such as fear of rejection, social norms, and conflict avoidance) we can start working on changing our behavior to become more assertive, better understood and ultimately happier.

In this workshop, I will share practical tips and tricks on how to overcome your “fear of asking” and encourage you put these ideas into practice immediately. These skills are crucial for personal development, career advancement and building healthy relationships so please join us if asking for what you want and need is a challenge for you!

About me

Coaching and mentoring has been part of my daily life for more than 15 years. I have coached across numerous markets, industries, cultures and geographies and one thing the never changes is the continued cycle of learning. As a recent empty nester, I am expanding my business to emerging markets in search of new and exciting opportunities.

What does the word „opportunity“ mean to you?

Opportunity is a choice. We have the choice to „go for it“ or „sit this one out“ and neither option is better than the other. The challenge lies in deciding when is the right time to go for it and when it’s the right time to say no thank you.

What would you like to wish Equal Pay Day for its 15th birthday?

I wish that the EPD conferences continue to connect women and provide a safe and inspiring environment for positive change.

What opportunity changed your life?

My role as GM of Wunderman in 1996. I was as a very young and a very inexperienced leader. It was a very challenging and often lonely job, however, it was a one in a lifetime opportunity as were many things in Prague in the 1990s.

What opportunity did you miss?

I wouldn’t say that I missed any opportunities but rather that I chose to focus on a different priorities at that time. No regrets just good choices 🙂
