I have navigated my own career many times. I combined studies and work. I moved from the consulting world to the corporate business. Twice I returned from parental leave – the first time I accepted a job offer abroad, relocated whole family and took turns with my husband on parental leave. I made a number of decisions and a few times I went back on my path. My career is exactly what I want and I am looking forward to where my journey takes me next.

Mentoring topic:  How to navigate our career

Let’s take a look at the fact that navigating our career is not a one-time decision that cannot be altered. That it is not a science, but rather a constant process and an inner dialogue with ourselves. And that there is not one right path for all. As part of the roundtable, I will share with you my own journey, examples of other women, and specific questions and tips that you can use to navigate your unique, authentic career path.

What is the best advice you have ever gained?

A number of them came into my life and they were always the best in a particular situation. Personally, however, what has helped me the most in my life is the realization that no matter how much and what advice I receive, I can always freely choose if and when I want to follow it.

Are you planning any change in 2022?

As the saying goes: change is life. So yes, I’m going to live again this year.

How do you refill your energy?

In many ways. Sometimes I just need to take a breath and exhale. My energy is often replenished by spending time together with my children and loved ones. And sometimes I need to recharge my energy alone, by reading.

What do you do when you can’t do something, as you imagined?

I’ll take a step back and see what I can influence and do differently. And sometimes it turns out that things are just as they should be – that the result that I did not imagine, I can eventually want and leads to something great that I could not even imagine or did not allow myself to imagine.
