Gender equality must be central to policy-makers

Tatyana G. Brzobohata speaks at The 62nd session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women in UN Headquarters in New York. This is the largest event in the UN after the UN General Assembly.

Tatiana’s contribution, as a representative of an NGO, focused mainly on women in the non-profit sector in the Czech Republic, but also touched upon the gender pay gap and the importance of promoting gender equality.

„In the Czech Republic, the difference between men’s and women’s earnings is 22%, which is the second worst result in the EU. We should fight the stereotypes of the male and female roles in the labor market and at the same time strengthen the self-confidence of women to make them believe they deserve the same remuneration as men do“

Taťána G. Brzobohatá represents the Czech non-profit sector in the UN. She is Ambassador SDG’s (Sustainable Development Goals), activist, winner of Miss World 2006.
